If a gun rights organization doesn’t punish politicians who vote against your gun rights, why should you support them?
But it happens year after year.
Most state and federal organizations take the easy way out at election time by simply endorsing the incumbent — no matter how they voted on gun bills.
The Indiana Firearms Coalition was founded, in part, to combat that. All of our incumbents keep getting A rating from the NRA, while we suffer under Red Flag laws and more.
For the last month, IFC has been working around the clock to expose incumbent State Senators who voted to pass ‘Red Flags’ or who voted against Constitutional Carry.
And it worked! Last night, armed with the information we gave them, gun owners threw RINO after RINO to the freaking curb!
Let’s get into the breakdown from last night.
Senator Greg Walker
Greg Walker has been betraying gun owners on and off for twenty years, he was literally elected in 2006.
Walker voted with the Democrats to pass Red Flags in Indiana.
Walker voted with the Democrats against Constitutional Carry.
Walked voted with the Democrats to ban handgun accessories.
Walker refused to answer his IFC gun rights candidate survey.
But Rep. Michelle Davis has a spotless record on gun rights in the House, and she surveyed 100% pro-gun with us.
IFC worked hard to expose Walker’s record of betrayal in this district. Our digital ad alone was seen by 90,000 gun owners in the district. Not statewide. It was narrowed to SD-41.
Our texting program was brutally effective too, and our targeted email program played a key role.
Gun owners took note. And last night Greg Walker suffered a humiliating 41.2% – 58.8% total blowout loss to Michelle Davis!
Senator Travis Holdman
Travis Holdman may have been the nastiest RINO in the entire state legislature. The guy was a total jerk to everyone.
Holdman aggressively betrayed gun owners in the Senate. When Indiana Democrats successfully passed ‘Red Flag Gun Seizures’ here — allowing your guns to be seized with no charges being filed — Holdman helped make it happen!
Just last year, Holdman again screwed over gun owners, voting for a Democrat-sponsored ban on Glock switches. This bill was unnecessary, and gave the Democrats a gun control win.
Despite all of this, the NRA endorsed this clown.
We didn’t. In fact, the Indiana Firearms Coalition spent real donor dollars making sure everyone knew about Travis Holdman’s real-time betrayals of the Second Amendment!
Over 82,500 voters in the district saw our digital ads.
And we informed another 4,725 gun owners through text alerts.
Last night, gun owners DESTROYED Travis Holdman in favor of Blake Fiechter (who surveyed 100% with us) but a stunning margin of 61.5% to 38.5%!
Senator Rick Niemeyer
Rick Niemeyer is all that is wrong with Indy politics. He talked a great game back home in the district, but sabotaged everything he professed to believe in when he was in the Capitol.
And that included the Second Amendment.
To hear him say it, Niemeyer wrote the Second Amendment alongside of James Madison back in 1789.
The truth was that Rick Niemeyer was instrumental in making Indiana the first Republican state to adopt ‘Red Flag Gun Seizures’ — completely shredding our due process rights.
He literally voted to let a judge seize your guns even if you were never even charged with a crime!
And that was just his first betrayal. When Niemeyer refused to answer our gun rights survey, we went to work educating gun owners.
Thanks to our social media team and your support, 87,000 gun owners in Senate District 6 saw our video exposing Niemeyer’s record. 87,000!
Plus everyone we contacted through text messages and email campaigns. It was brutal. Intentionally so!
And it worked.
Last night, pro-gun candidate James Starkey obliterated Rick Niemeyer by a whopping 56.1% – 43.9%! The actual vote was 6,340 to 4,968. It wasn’t even close.
Senator Jim Buck
But no one got destroyed last night in higher numbers than Jim Buck. It turns out, gun owners get pissed off when they are betrayed…they just needed to hear the facts.
And the facts were simple.
Jim Buck voted with the Democrats to pass Red Flag Gun Seizures.
Jim Buck voted with the Democrats for a bogus Glock Switch ban.
And Jim Buck refused to answer his IFC gun rights survey.
And we told everyone! We contact over 90,000 gun owners in Senate District 21 through digital ads, text campaigns, email and direct mail.
Armed with this these facts, gun owners did the rest. They crushed Buck in the biggest win of the night for the Second Amendment. Buck lost to pro-gun Tracey Powell 35.3% – 64.7%!
Powell almost doubled Buck’s vote count. LOLOLOL!
House Side
Obviously this year the Senate took the spotlight during the primaries.
But the Indiana Firearms Coalition focused on a few House races, too, including HD-58 where pro-gun candidate John Reed beat Ed Brickley by solid numbers.
Brickley’s campaign was built around his endorsement by the FOP. The same FOP who opposed Stand-Your-Ground, opposed Constitutional Carry, and supported Red Flag Gun Seizures.
We hammered that message home to gun owners in the district, who rejected Brickley’s BS and select Reed, who surveyed 100% with IFC.
Can’t Win Them All
One of the biggest defeats that gun owners suffered last night was in Senate District 15 where the odious Senator Liz Brown defeated Darren Vogt by TWENTY TOTAL VOTES!
Liz Brown used her power as Judiciary Chair to block Constitutional Carry for years.
She voted against the bill on the floor, but she voted in favor of ‘Red Flag Gun Seizure. She was pure nasty. Naturally she refused to answer her candidate survey.
IFC ran our full program here. But Brown has won this by a margin of 50.07% – 49.93%. Twenty votes.
Having spoken with Darren Vogt, a recount is almost a certainty in this situation so stay tuned.
Gun owners should be asking Governor Braun why he endorsed Liz Brown in this race.
The Impact of IFC’s Program
It was a great night!
IFC was outspent by the RINOs and the groups that tried to defend them by orders of magnitude in these elections, but IFC’s grassroots army is better than every other political force in Indiana, and we proved that in a BIG way.
Because of you and your support for IFC, we were able to spend TENS OF THOUSANDS of dollars exposing anti-gun RINOs and educating gun voters on where their candidates really stood.
If we don’t hold RINOs accountable, they’ll never stop betraying us. Not punishing RINOs is how red states turn purple.
We can’t let that happen here.

A special note to the legislature: you passed Red Flags. Not us. Powerful RINOs lost their primary in 2024 over that vote. Many more did last night. If you want to stop this, repeal Indiana’s embarrassing ‘Red Flag Gun Seizure’ law once and for all!
