Indiana Democrats are pushing another dangerous gun control scheme — and once again, it’s coming from one of the most liberal, self-loathing Democrats in the Statehouse.

HB-1089 would allow cities and counties to declare public parks as so-called “Gun Free Zones,” forcing law-abiding Hoosiers to disarm in the very places families gather.

And the sponsor of this bill is House Democrat Sue Errington.

Everyone knows that “Gun Free Zones” are deadly.

Nearly all mass shootings happen in these areas for one simple reason: criminals know the good guys are disarmed and can’t defend themselves without facing criminal charges.

Errington and House Democrats know this; they just don’t care.

The language is explicit: cities and counties would be allowed to prohibit or restrict firearm possession in parks they operate or maintain.

Once that door is opened, it will never close.

Parks today.
Other public spaces next.
And before long, Indiana starts looking like Illinois.

Errington claims this bill is about “keeping kids safe.” That’s rich, coming from a lifelong radical who spent decades working for Planned Parenthood and has spent her entire life trying to chip away at all that is good about the Hoosier state.

Naw, this bill isn’t about safety, it’s about disarming us!

That’s all this bill would do, since criminals won’t follow this law.

We need to shut this down now — before it spreads. Trusting the GOP to fight for us is a failed tactic. These are the RINOs who gave us ‘Red Flags!’
