History of the Indiana Firearms Coalition

Prior to our founding, there was virtually no state-level presence on the ground working to defend and expand the Second Amendment. Other state-level groups ALWAYS protected the Republican majority, even when they voted for Red Flag Gun Seizures in 2012 and again in 2018!

The Indiana Firearms Coalition (IFC) changed all of that with a no-holds-barred approach to politics, loudly naming the names of the RINOs who betrayed gun owners while also working to block the Democrats’ gun control bills. In addition to traditional direct mail campaigns, we alert gun owners to threats in Indy in real time using videos, digital ads, texting campaigns, and more.

2021: IFC is Founded by Hoosiers Angry About Indiana’s Red Flag Laws

The Indiana Firearms Coalition (IFC) is founded. We immediately begin to sound the alarm about the Republicans’ push for expanded ‘Red Flag Gun Seizures’ in Indianapolis.

IFC Members Pass Constitutional Carry Law

2022: IFC Members Pass Constitutional Carry Law

IFC files the first Second Amendment Preservation Act (SAPA) bill in Indiana, with Rep. Curt Nisly (HB-1371), and begins building support for the bill. IFC pushes hard for Constitutional Carry (HB-1296), which is signed into law that year.

IFC Members Block Expanded Red Flag Laws, File SAPA

2023: IFC Members Block Expanded Red Flag Laws, File SAPA

IFC sounds the alarm on SB-295, a massive expansion of ‘Red Flag’ laws filed by RINO State Senator Jack Sandlin. IFC members kill the bill. IFC also works with Rep. Lorissa Sweet to push for SAPA (HB-1117), but leadership kills that bill.

IFC Blocks AR-15 Ban, Fights for SAPA, Members Dominate Primary

2024: IFC Blocks AR-15 Ban, Fights for SAPA, Members Dominate Primary

IFC runs its first election program, exposing dozens of Republicans who backed ‘Red Flag Gun Seizures’ in the legislature. Deputy Speaker Pro-Tem Sharon Negele, a 12-year incumbent with an A-rating from the NRA, is removed from office by angry gun owners. Many other RINOs come very close to losing their jobs, sending a clear warning to the establishment. IFC’s bill sponsors, Lorissa Sweet and Zach Payne, survive their primaries despite being targeted by leadership. Several other groups attack IFC for daring to expose RINOs.

IFC Worked on SAPA and a Full Repeal of Red Flag Laws

2025: IFC Worked on SAPA and a Full Repeal of Red Flag Laws

IFC refiles SAPA with Rep. Lorissa Sweet (HB-1657) and legislation to completely repeal ‘Red Flag Gun Seizures’ with Rep. Zach Payne (HB-1653). IFC confronts a huge Democratic push for gun control in Indy, killing SB-152 (which would have banned carrying a handgun while voting), SB-247 (which would have created a statewide gun registry and raised the age to purchase rifles), and HB-1597 (another backdoor gun registry scheme).
