The 2025 legislative session is over in Indianapolis.

But the war on gun owners is just getting started.

Indiana Democrats just introduced the most dangerous gun control bill we’ve ever seen — SB-247 — and even though it stalled this year, they are actively working behind the scenes to bring it back and ram it through in 2026.

This isn’t some throwaway bill filed by a fringe backbencher.

This is the Democrat roadmap for total disarmament in Indiana. And if we don’t mobilize now — not in January, but RIGHT NOW — they could gain the momentum they need to pass it next year.

If passed into law, SB-247 would crush Hoosiers by: 

➡️ Banning the private sale of firearms; forcing all transfers through a dealer, with mandatory background checks and permanent recordkeeping.

➡️ Banning the sale of AR-15s and similar rifles; labeling them “assault weapons” and defining them broadly with vague cosmetic language.

➡️ Raising the age to buy a firearm from 18 to 21; disarming thousands of young adults who can vote, serve in the military, and pay taxes.

➡️ Create new felony charges for anyone who violates these rules, including private sellers and law-abiding gun owners.

Let’s be blunt.

This bill is not about stopping crime. This is about control.

It’s about turning Indiana into Illinois, where private sales are illegal, gun stores are suffocated with regulations, and millions of gun owners live under the thumb of anti-gun bureaucrats.

And it’s no coincidence this is happening after years of relative silence from the Republican supermajority in Indy.

The Democrats are organizing — filing radical bills, whipping votes behind the scenes, and lining up allies in the media and the courts.

They want to pass this in 2026. But we’re going to make them regret ever touching it.
